Christopher Shannon
Designer name: Christopher Shannon
Origin: Liverpool.
Career highlight: “Still working towards it... but collaborating with Judy Blame and Louise Wilson awarding me a scholarship to the MA course were both high points.”
Design background: MA Menswear Central Saint Martins.
What are your design signatures? “Re-worked luxe sportswear, tight colour palettes, overbearing prints.”
How would you describe the Christopher Shannon man? “Something for everyone.”
Name three things that are inspiring you for autumn/winter 2010: “Vintage ski knits, mixed textures and Michelle Sank.”
What encapsulates fashionable London for you? “I think if you are new to fashion and London then it’s a good education to see Bond Street, also Central Saint Martins.”
What do you hope the new decade will mean for your brand? “More of the same, more good stockists and more amazing collaborations. To make the product better and better.”
How does London influence your designs? “More than anything, the eclectic mix of people on the streets and the way they dress whatever the weather. I've always found I get more excited about ideas when I’m out and about rather than in the library or museum. Fashion should always be about the now and the future.”
